by | CAREER TIPS

Cruise ships are essentially floating towns. This means they need a number of people working all types of jobs to guarantee an enjoyable experience. There are so many different cruise line jobs that your professional profile is bound to fit in somewhere.

So let’s take a look at some of the jobs you can strive for with a cruise provider.

Cruise-line jobs on board, by department

When a cruise ship is at sea, they have to provide all services and amenities to passengers day and night. To achieve this, cruise lines need dedicated and reliable on board staff to ensure guests are enjoying themselves as much as possible.

Entertainment & activities

Cruise ships are an all inclusive experience. The guests can’t go elsewhere for their entertainment like a traditional holiday so cruises bring the entertainment for them. Working as an onboard entertainer means you’ll have an opportunity to perform regularly but also enjoy plenty of free-time.

Hospitality

The hospitality department is the largest on a cruise ship, with sub departments that all work to guarantee incredible service.
