To make sure you have the best chance of landing your dream job on May 15th, we’re here to help!

We’ve already given you all the basic information you need to know about Hospitality Connection Paris. Now, we want to give you some guidance for what you need to do to succeed at the event. From making sure your CV is ready to how to pitch yourself to companies, there are several ways you can prepare in order to get the most out of your time at the event.

Do Your Research

One of the best things you can do to prepare yourself for success is to research the companies that will be in attendance. More than 20 incredible luxury hospitality companies will be waiting for you in Paris on May 15th. You will have the chance to meet face to face with recruiters from brands such as:

Doing research will help you learn about a company’s history, mission, and values. This information can help you tailor your CV and cover letter to fit their needs and demonstrate your interest in working for them.

Additionally, learn about the job roles that each company is hiring for and identify the positions that best fit your skill set and experience. You can even make a list of the brands or companies that you are most interested in working for and bring it with you on the day. Having a clear idea of which companies and positions interest you can help you prioritize your time and make the most of your interactions with recruiters.

Make Your CV and Cover Letter Sparkle

Before you come to Hospitality Connection, make sure your CV and cover letter are up-to-date. Your CV should be tailored to the type of companies and positions that interest you. Highlight your relevant luxury hospitality experience, skills, and achievements in a clear and concise manner. Be sure to proofread your resume thoroughly and have a friend or colleague review it for mistakes.

Your cover letter should also be tailored to the companies and positions you are most interested in. Use this opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of the company and explain why you would be a good fit for the position. And, be sure to avoid using a generic template. Recruiters can quickly spot generic cover letters, so an original one will help show that you care to make the extra effort.

Polish Your Personal Elevator Pitch

An elevator pitch is a brief statement that summarizes your skills, experience, and career goals. It is called that way because it should be short enough to deliver during a brief elevator ride. This pitch is an excellent tool for introducing yourself to recruiters and making a memorable first impression.

To prepare your pitch, start by writing down a few sentences that summarize your background and experience in the industry. Practice delivering this pitch to someone you trust to get feedback and improve your delivery. Be sure to include specific examples of your achievements and skills to make your pitch even more memorable.

Dress Sharp

The way you present yourself at a job fair is essential, and your attire is a critical component of your presentation. Dressing professionally demonstrates that you take the job search process seriously and that you want to make a good impression. You don't have to wear a suit, but you should dress in attire that is clean, smart, and appropriate for the luxury hospitality industry.

Come Equipped

On the day of the event, be sure to bring all the necessary materials, including multiple copies of your CV and cover letter, a pen and notebook, and a folder or portfolio to hold any materials that you receive from recruiters. You may also want to bring a water bottle and a light snack to hold you over while you’re on site.

Prepare to Socialize

At Hospitality Connection Paris, not only will you be able to meet recruiters, you’ll also have time to mingle with your industry peers. Be prepared to introduce yourself confidently, ask thoughtful questions, and engage in conversation with recruiters and other job seekers. Remember to listen actively, and be respectful of other people's time. If you’re interested in maintaining contact with that person, ask them for their Hosco profile and message them there.
