Working in hospitality can be a tough job no matter what time of year it is. But, it’s during many people’s most cherished time of the year–the winter holiday season–that hospitality workers truly become unsung heroes.
Big family bookings for boxing day meals, hectic and elaborate dinner services on New Year’s Eve, drunken company parties. These are the hurdles that you jump over with ease every time the holidays roll around. Not to mention being unable to spend time with your own family and friends.
You are the reason the holidays are a special time for so many and your hard work and sacrifice does not go unnoticed.
So, as we come to the end of 2022, the Hosco advice page team wanted to write something a little more special, inspired by you!
Ode to Hospitality Workers
Cheers to the folks who make our stays
Full of sunshine on rainy days
You train the rookies and run the show
And always give them space to grow
You make the beds and handle brooms
To tidy up and clean the rooms
You chop the veg and cook the fish
And put your soul in every dish
You dress the part and wear a smile
To serve your guests with grace and style
You mix the drinks and pour the beers
That help us all combat our fears
And when you’re done you go back home
To ease your mind and rest your bones
So cheers to you who make our stays
Full of sunshine on rainy days!
